Fairtrade Fortnight 2006
How can you get involved?
Each year the Fair Trade in Norfolk network organises activities for the Fortnight and welcomes anyone interested to get involved, but FTiN also encourages and supports others to co-ordinate their own activities. FTiN can help with:
- Providing publicity materials such as leaflets, posters or window stickers
- Providing information from past events.
- Designing promotional materials
- Publicising your event
- Providing teaching materials and guest speakers for schools.
Want to hold your own event? Well it's easier than ever to do. FTiN has loads of ideas to help you kick-start your event. We can help you co-ordinate food tastings to talks, or why not host a Fairtrade dinner for friends?
However you want to 'Make Fairtrade your Habit', FTiN can help, whether it's joining in the activities or co-ordinating your own. Contact FTiN to help them spread the word or let them know how you're celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight.

Africa & Trade
Sat. 18 March 2006
- How can African farmers make a living if European farmers are paid to undercut them? Unfair trade practices stop African farmers competing equally. Without fairer trade rules such as removing trade barriers and unfair subsidies African farmers will remain poor because they cannot sell their products on the world market. Guest speaker Augustine Omara, from Connections for Development, will lead a brief discussion, followed by food and music. This is one of a series of monthly events organised by NACA to encourage understanding of diverse cultures and traditions. Children accompanied by adults are welcome.
